Apply for a home
Apply in a few taps with your Passport, choose what the owner sees, and follow your application.
When you’re a verified match for a home, you’ll see Apply on it. Your Passport fills the application in.
What you choose to share
On the application you choose what the owner sees:
- your name and identity check
- your verified income
- your verified credit score
- your email and phone
All four are on by default, and you can turn any of them off. You also choose how long the owner can see them (30 or 90 days). The page shows exactly what the owner will see before you send it. You can add a preferred move-in date, your pets and a short note to the owner.
The owner reviews applications in the order they arrive and decides only on the criteria they published for the home.
Fees
PropFit doesn’t collect application fees. If the owner charges one, the application shows the most they may charge, and you pay it to them directly. There’s nothing to pay on PropFit.
Send, withdraw or discard
- Send application sends it to the owner.
- Withdraw application takes it back after you’ve sent it.
- Discard application deletes a draft you haven’t sent.
A draft expires after 7 days. A sent application expires after 30 days without a decision.
Following your application
Your applications are under Applications. Each one shows where it is: sent to the owner, being reviewed, a background and credit check requested or in progress, and then the decision: approved, not approved, waitlisted, lease recorded, or home filled.
If the owner asks for a background and credit check, you’ll be asked to authorize it. See Background and credit checks.
