Screening and screening packs
Screening is included in your plan. How the per-lease rule, your yearly allowance and screening packs work.
Ordering a background and credit check (screening) through PropFit is included in your plan. There’s no charge per report, and renters never pay for it.
What each vacancy includes
Each vacancy includes one screening for the renter you choose, plus one replacement if that renter falls through or declines. PropFit staff can allow more on a vacancy when there’s a good reason.
Your yearly allowance
Your plan also includes a yearly number of screenings, shown on the Screening card in Settings → Billing. Unused included screenings don’t carry over to the next year.
When you’ve used this year’s included screenings, Billing says so. You can buy a screening pack or contact PropFit to add more.
Screening packs
A screening pack is a one-time purchase of extra screenings, paid by card through Stripe. Choose Buy on the pack you want under Screening packs. Pack sizes and prices are shown there.
- Pack screenings don’t expire while you have a plan.
- If you cancel, unused pack screenings are frozen, and they come back if you choose a plan again.
Which screenings are used first
- The vacancy’s own screening (and its replacement).
- Your yearly allowance.
- Pack screenings, oldest pack first.
- Any extra screenings PropFit staff granted.
A criminal history check that is held back until a conditional offer (where Fair Chance rules apply) is part of the same screening and doesn’t use another one. See Decisions and adverse action notices.
