Your Passport and who sees what
Verify your identity, income and credit once. Owners see only that a requirement is verified, never your numbers or documents.
Your Passport lets you verify your details once and use them for every home. Verifying turns a potential match into a verified match. It’s free, and it isn’t a rental application.
What you can verify
- Identity: take a photo of a government ID and a selfie in the verification provider’s secure window. PropFit keeps the result, not your ID images. It counts for 365 days.
- Income: connect your bank or payroll account (read-only), or upload recent pay stubs or an offer letter. It counts for 90 days.
- Credit: a soft pull. It counts for 30 days.
Each card on your Passport shows what the check does, how it works, the provider, who sees it, how long it counts and what we keep. When a check is about to expire or has expired, choose Verify again.
Soft pull and hard pull
The Passport credit check is a soft pull. A soft pull never affects your credit score, and lenders can’t see it.
A hard pull only happens later, if you apply for a specific home and authorize a background and credit check for it.
What owners see
Without your permission, owners see only that a requirement is verified, for example “Income criterion verified ✓”. They never see your numbers or documents, and before you apply they see you under a code name, not your real name.
You can choose to share more, like your verified income or contact details, with a specific owner for a set time. See Sharing and your privacy.
After you verify
Your matches update straight away. You’ll see a message like “Your matches just got stronger” when more homes become verified matches.
